Prevention for Obesity

Prevention is always better than cure. Inviting obesity is inviting many diseases. These include hypertension, heart failure and diabetes. People with obesity may suffer from sterility. This is because the meda dhatu (adipose tissues or fats) in the body blocks all the bodily channels called srotas and hence further nourishments of the dhatus (bodily vital tissues) like spermatozoa and bones are stopped or not properly performed.

One has to perform exercises on daily basis. Physical work is indeed needed leaving the sedentary lifestyle. Control over too much fatty, starchy and oily food may help. Try to avoid too much sleeping especially straightaway after having meals. Daily brisk walking is one of the simplest ways to get rid of being over weight.

But above all the best way to prevent this situation is to be fit and fine. Here are some keys to keep one healthy,

  • Daily on regular basis, half an hour to an hour exercise is sufficient to keep the body fit.
  • The exercise need not to be very hard or vigorous. Walking, stretching and swimming are considered to be best.
  • Going outside and have a walk
  • Taking stairs instead of elevators is good idea.
  • Try to walk for short distance other than riding bike or driving car.
  • Even if you have taken bike or car, it is better to find the parking place that is far away from the destination. This may make you to walk.
  • One should get busy whenever free by dusting the house, washing the car or cleaning the bathroom – these activities burn calories.
  • While traveling in the bus, give the seat to the elderly person and stand until your stop comes, this is beneficial to burn out extra calories with the respect others will have towards you!
  • Try to take the smaller plate; this gives the impression that you have consumed dishful food items to your eyes.
  • Be conscious about your waist-to-hip ratio, this should not exceed 0.8 for women and 1.0 for men.
