A few breezy breakfast recipes
As the proverb goes “morning shows the day”, a healthy and full breakfast gives us a head start for the day. Here are a few recipes that are easy to prepare and nutritious at the same time:
1. SMOOTHIE: it will take only five minute of your busy time to prepare a smoothie of fresh fruits. Pour some fruit juice of your choice (apple, orange, or pineapple) about 350 ml, 115 gms of freshly chopped assorted fruits (banana, mango, peaches, berries, pineapple, apricot etc) in a blender. Add a little date or raisins and 3 spoonful of yoghurt also. After thorough blending, the smooth smoothie is all yours to drink.
2. FRUIT SALAD: another winner with health freaks. Highly energizing fetches you all the water and fiber that are essential for the body. Take an assortment of fresh fruits of your choice banana, apple, grapes, pineapples, mangoes, etc. add fresh cream or yoghurt or simply sprinkle some black salt and enjoy your breakfast.
3. FROZEN BERRIES: berries are a rich source of iron, one can always store them in the freezer, defrost the berries overnight, next morning consume them with any dressing of cream, yoghurt, or with muesli or smoothies. Add honey or sweetener to taste.
4. HEALTH FOR THE DAY: we all must get atleast 5 parts of fruits plus vegetables per day. Here is a recipe that helps. 1 slice of melon that is chopped, a banana, pear or apple, also chopped, Kellogg’s or any cereal of your choice, some yoghurt or cream. Mix all the items and have fun eating.
It is suggested that you have at least 40 % of your diet at breakfast. A high calorie breakfast is always healthy choice since you are starting yet another hectic day and the calories are likely to burn out sooner than the other meals.
