Here are some simple acne skin care formulae that you can get straight out of the larder and apply to your skin without second thoughts because they are natural products. Those who have skin that is acne prone must have tried a wide array of products available in the market but without any help. The acne skin care products are made from ingredients that you can find in the kitchen. Excessive oil in the skin is the cause of skin acne and you need a good facial wash to clean your skin of the dirt and the excess oil that clogs your pores. One such constituent could be apple cider vinegar. You can also use fermented vinegar, one that has been fermented naturally. Vinegar is acidic and you should be using it in the diluted form. One part cider or apple vinegar and eight to ten parts of water would be a good combination. You can use that with a ball of cotton wool dipped into the solution and you can wipe the excess oils off from your skin. This would act as a great cleanser and help to remove all dirt away from the skin.

Another of the acne care home made recipes is the mask made of egg white. This consists of egg whites that are beaten and you need to beat them enough so that they are nice and fluffy and they cover your full face. You have to let this settle on the skin for some time and then you can wash off with warm water. You should not use this more than twice a week as this may dry the skin. Now, you can make home made acne control recipes based on the constituents that help to kill bacteria and also get rid of the elements that cause acne. A small amount of baking soda can be added to the mixture of egg white and the vinegar with purified water. This can act as a mild exfoliating agent for the skin which is prone to acne.

In my response to my inability to find an acne treatment that works for me, I took it upon myself to find out if there are any differences between the acne of men and women. What I found makes me wonder why I can’t find a treatment that takes those differences into account.

According to http://campusacnetruth.org/html/acne_gender.html , there are many differences between guy acne and girl acne, including:

-Guys’ skin is 25% thicker than that or a girl
-Girls’ skin has a high pH level which can lead to over drying
-Guys have large amounts of testosterone and DHT which can lead to oil and clogging of the pores.

Has anyone else come across these facts?

    Crystal,

Yes, I have also come across this information. Unfortunately, most acne medications ignore the gender differences in acne.

Instead, they use ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide which can be rough on the skin. They also add ingredients called parabens which aren’t so much ingredients as preservatives to prolong shelf life. Unfortunately, parabens are potentially harmful and have been banned in many countries due to links to cancer!

The list is short if not non-existent when it comes to safe but effective acne treatments.
