Baby’s first birthday party
September 16, 2008
Birthdays are always the best form of celebrations that one can enjoy. And especially if it’s your baby’s first Birthday party celebration then it’s got to be a memorable one. In actual fact, this party turns out to be more important to you rather than to your toddler. To your kid, it might turn out to be a big mess at home which is somehow clashing with his playtime “timings’. So, it’s better if you can make this amazing occasion unforgettable to yourself.
Starting right away with decors, food, each and every single thing should be kept trouble-free, uncomplicated. You are basically left with the job to be in awe at how your little toddler is growing up and not hurry about in the kitchen to wash the dishes or add the finishing touches to your homemade soup.
Your first priority remains to make the guest list. Keep in mind to make it as short as possible. Most of the babies go through a phase of unfamiliarity and unease. A list of 10 guests would suffice. Family and close friends are the best ones to be invited in this kind of a party.
Should it be theme based or not ?
Themes are quite often a very good way to organize birthday parties. Planning of food, decors, games and events, become much easier and these should always be kept minimum. After all how much attention can a one year old spend on each and every event that you organize! Beware of the fact you’ll have to handle several things together, manage your guests as well as keep a check on you’re a year-old toddler.
It’s a very memorable event that your baby is turning a year old. But parents usually make this mistake of choosing some cartoon character, such as, “Winnie the Pooh” as a theme and turn the party into a huge event. Keeping the party for an hour or two maximum is the best option or else you can well expect your guest of honor to meltdown during the party.
Walls plastered with Baby Roo , Eeyore plates to be served on and Pigletized Birthday cake is a must. Now you can just relax and let the party follow its own course. This is one event which is really needed by you. Instead of running around managing things you should actually enjoy the party a little.
Invitations
Bring out your creativity while making invitations. They should be adorned with quotations, graphics and pasting’s according to the theme.
* Use clip art: Search for example, Teletubbies or Thomas the Tank Engine or Winnie the Pooh in programs having clip-art and then pate them in your invitations.
* Think visually: Cut out the printed invitations into various fun-shapes such as, Pooh, Thomas or Dipsy along the border.
* Make it easy: There are several shops which keep themes pre-printed on birthday invitation cards. You can easily get hold of them as well.
* Review the books: Putting in some quotations from children’s books are another brilliant example.
