Benefits of Various Essential Oils
It is obtained from plants in a concentrated form. It is used in perfumes, food flavour, and in aromatherapy as it has a good smell. This oil is also used to massage the body to uplift one’s physical, psychological and emotional state.
Essential oils needed very little to get effect as it’s concentrated. Over use may cause a treatment unadvisable. Lavender, chamomile, tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint and ginger are the types of essential oil. Usage and effects of each as follows:
Lavender
This mostly used oil brings relaxation, cures stress and insomnia. You can take vapor or drop a little to your pillow. You also can mix it with your massage oil and take a massage to your neck and shoulder. It also soothes headache, toothache, burns, cuts or wounds. Burning this oil has got a tremendous positive effect during the delivery of baby as it reduces the pain and stress. Insect bite could also be healed up applying this oil.
Chamomile (Roman)
A good stress reliever which makes people calm and sleepy. Reduces headache and toothache of babies too. It has a anti inflammatory effect. It should be used in vaporizer or oil burner. Massage this oil to prevent indigestion. Cold bag of Chamomile oil fights puffy eyes and gives soothing effect.
Tea tree
Due to its strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. It works as medicine for thrush, athlete’s foot and cystitis. You can use it as your bath oil. Inhale this oil mixed with water to get relief from asthma, bronchitis and sinusitis. It can be applied on a gauze or cotton to heal a wound just like lavender oil.
Eucalyptus
This oil fights the congestion best specially when its winter. Mix well with lukewarm water and inhale or take a few drops onto your pillow or hanky and take the aroma. It relieves muscle pains if used as massage oil for the affected area. Like lavender, it also prevents insect’s bites.
