A report presented after carrying out a study by the researchers of Creighton University of US and further published in the American Journal of clinical Nutrition states that a low chance of 60%-77% of having cancer is incident on women who add to their diet an additional amount of 1000 international units (IU) of vitamin D almost every day for more than 4 years than the ones who do not do so.
According to lead study author, Dr Joan Lappe, this effect is not only limited to women. What Dr Lappe says is that, cancer cells die out fast due to the presence of Vitamin D which accelerates the functioning of the immune system efficiently.
