Comfortable in my own skin
As the words go, “no one is perfect”, we all know it is a fact yet we are always unhappy with ourselves and think other people have everything perfect. Lack of confidence as well as competence develops when we feel we are deficient in some aspects, be it physical, psychological, spiritual, or emotional or intellectual attribute. We make ourselves miserable and wallow in self pity over something which we don’t have. Being comfortable in your skin means being happy in whatever life has given us. Fretting over what we don’t have only makes us fail in utilizing our potential to the fullest. We often get inside a shell or embarrass ourselves by overplaying us. This could be remedied, of course. If life gives you lemons, then make lemonade.
First of all we must acknowledge our shortcomings along with our powers. A list can help. We must be happy with our body, personality, past, and limitations. With age and maturity comes the comfort but it can be practiced a well. God almighty has created us all differently because we all have different jobs to do. We are same in our strengths and weaknesses, so why not celebrate being you.
