Depression in Women and The Causes
Women are more likely to get depressed in the same situation. The physiological feature and difference in brain cells make them act differently in cases of depression. A woman can cope up with stress less compared to the capability of a man. The severity and duration is also much in women in this regard. Social difference may also cause women to be depressed. In present age, while women are working like men, the stress level comes in two-fold. They have to manage stressful situation in house as well as in office.
Depression is not always related with occasional blues. Events like divorce and death of loved ones can cause great depression in mind of women. Depression not only affect women mentally but physically also. Both the personal and professional life is hampered due to depression and anxiety. Problems start in decision making, behaving with others and thinking also. Depression is caused due to lowering of such brain chemicals leading to nerve cells work in slow pace. Proper medications, behavioral therapy, close contacts of family members can help them feel better and relaxed.
Depression is a state of body and mind in which the coordination between these two is hampered. Women seem to grow eating disorder, stress and anxiety, roughness or silence in behavior during the phase of depression. There are many causes of depression in women. Pre-menstrual syndrome, infertility, menopause, miscarriage are to name a few which are physically related.
It has been observed that married women suffer more from depression than married men. Researches have found that women with more number of children suffer from depression to a great extent. The economical and social insecurity only aggravate their conditions. Any domestic violence can also give birth of depressive illness in women. Likewise, a raped woman goes through traumatic physical and metal stages leading to long-term, depression. Therefore, we need to find the cause of depression correctly to help women live free of anxiety.
