While we age we are bound to develop some problem with our limbs. It is the knees that get affected and makes it difficult for you to move about. But what if you were given a magical drink and you get comfortable joints that enable you to move about freely? That would be wonderful and you would be amazed if I tell you what a tall glass of fresh orange juice can do to your joints. After all you reap some sweet harvests if you cater to the taste buds.According to a recent study it was found out that beta cryptoxanthin was much needed in the condition of polyarthritis. This is a joint problem that happens due to the autoimmune system of the body. Orange juice that is squeezed fresh has plenty of beta- cryptoxanthin.
Very recently the researchers on Polyarthritis have found out that the older adults and the middle aged ones who had lots of beta- cryptoxanthin in their diet did not have much of the risk of developing polyarthritis than people who had less of the compound in their diet.
One glass of fresh orange juice would provide enough of the compound to help against inflammation and pain in the joints. Oranges are also full of Vitamin C which is a great nutrient responsible for good health. Although researchers believe that beta-cryptoxanthin is a good compound for protection against polyarthritis there are other compounds like zeaxanthin which is also a carotenoid that can help.
If you have been taking green tea your knees would be safer. The useful compounds in Green Tea are EGCG and ECG which helps in fighting collagen destruction and cartilage in case of arthritic joints. The compounds found in Green Tea are catechins which are strong flavonoids and these help to fight the pain and inflammation and help in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Drinking some cups of green tea is not a good enough guarantee against knee pain or inflammation but there are some more helpful methods of keeping the knees healthy.
If you are overweight you need to reduce the weight because overweight problem reduces the risk of knee pain.
If you had knee injury it might enhance the knee problem doubly.
The quadriceps muscles should be worked out well as weak quadriceps cause knee problems.
