If marriage is the happiest moment in one’s life then divorce is undoubtedly the saddest moment whatever may be the cause. The toughest part of it to approach your partner and tell her or him that you want the divorce. It is the toughest situation you will be facing in your life involving a lot of emotions and heart break. Today I will be telling you step by step how to approach your spouse for divorce:

Be Resolute:

Well so you have taken the decision and you are quite firm about it and absolutely sure that this marriage cannot be saved. Tell your wife about it gracefully and cancel all other counseling options. You should get legal counseling before approaching her and should have started the paperwork before saying it to her.

Be Civil and not Soft:

As you have arrived at such a situation in life being soft won’t help the relationship any more. Be clear and say I want a divorce and not we need more time. It is highly unlikely that more time will solve the problems rather you will have to bear the burden of such a relationship. The situation has exceeded any scope of damage control that’s why you are forced to say these things.

Children:

Do not forget your children. Remember it is always right to end a decaying relationship and look towards the future but ignoring your children is blatant irresponsibility. If given the option of joint maintenance for your children or asked by your wife to pay up for their studies and if you can accept it. After all yu are also a father do not shirk off your responsibilities and make the children suffer due to your marital problems.

Love:

You may not be lovers anymore but it is always better to end the relationship in good faith. After all you must have some respect for the person with whom you have swear to share your life and emotions long time ago.
