Easy Way to Lose Weight
July 6, 2009
Losing weight means burn the more calories than consumed. But, just by subtracting more calories than what we are consuming, would lead to death. We would use up all energy which we consumed as food, and would be in need of more.
Hence it’s not just about burning calories but wisely doing it, by choosing what to consume and what to expend. We have to have a clear understanding of the basic rules of weight-loss; we need to have the knowledge in hand of how to exercise for such goals, and how to inspire oneself for the same.
Regardless of the common reservations, losing weight does not have many mysteries at all. The matter of fact is that it does not even require the involvement of bizarre diets, unique exercises, wonder pills, or specially equipped fitness gadgets. Just by undergoing some minor changes every day we can slowly, surely, and steadily get rid of those additional pounds.
A strange fact: For one pound weight loss, we need to burn approximately around three thousand and five hundred calories, more than what we burn in our every day activities. Sound’s unattainable!
Here is an example of how to work it out
-First we need to calculate our BMR or the “Basal Metabolic Rate” – this is the amount an individual body needs to burn to function normally with its basic mechanisms to breathe, digest etc.
-Then we have to know our activity level, by using a calorie calculator, which will indicate how much calories we burn, exercising, sitting, lifting weights, standing, etc., all through the day.
-Thirdly and very important is to keep a track of approximately how much calories we intake throughout the whole day. If we are consuming lesser calories than we burn, then we’ll successfully lose weight.
For Example: Lisa has a BMR of fourteen hundred calories, while she burns only nine hundred calories in her daily activities. To sustain the weight she should intake twenty three hundred calories. However by following a food chart its found that she actually consumes two thousand five hundred and fifty calories each day.
Hence, by consuming two hundred and fifty calories more than her body’s requirement she will gain around one pound for every two weeks.
