A healthy body depends upon three things namely- food, workout (including games and sports) and rest i.e. sleep. These three ingredients of healthy body are the base of healthy life for young children because the body that the young boys and girls get in their young age help them to coop with the difficult days of life which they face later on in their life.

Good sleeping habits are absolutely necessary for the children as the healthy mind depends upon it a lot. It is the duty and the responsibility of the parents of looking after the healthy sleeping conditions for their child.

According to Dr. Sarah Blunden, Paedriatic-sleep-expert of the University of South Australia, many people in the age group of 10 to 12 years are sleeping less by 30 to 60 minutes everyday. This may result in poor memory, grumpiness and unnecessary aggression towards nothing. It also increases the chances of obesity hitting their body as well.

Maintain the following guidelines to provide better sleeping conditions to avoid this unhealthy practice at your home and help your child to get his perfect sleep everyday:

Make a routine:

You must not be strict about forcing your timings on your child. You must make a routine for your child according to his limitations. Whatever be the time, allow him to go to bed at this only.

Sweep the room and keep it peaceful for mind:

Nowadays the rooms of the young children are overcrowded with TV, computer, mobile phone, iPods and gaming devices. These gadgets are causing severe threats to the sleeping habits of the young minds. Keep these things away from their rooms and make the environment peaceful for them.

Snuggle up:

Young children have the habit of reappearing for water and toilet break. This habit works as a hamper towards a sound sleep. Inculcate in them the habit of going to the toilet and drink adequate amount of water before they go to the bed. It may take sometime to get habituated to this schedule, but sooner or later this habit will help them a lot.

Concentrate on Diet timings:

Your child should not eat just before going to bed. He must take his meal at least 1 hour before going to bed. His diet must not have spicy or high sugar foods as they may cause problems in their sleep. Warm milk can be very good stuff before a sleep.
