Foods That Help In Lowering Blood Pressure

Blood pressure always plays a major role in maintaining sound health. If you have a tendency of frequent fluctuation in your blood pressure, then you must go for the suitable treatment. He normal pressure is 120/80mmHg and you must try to maintain it.

If you pay a little bit of attention towards your health, you must he able to keep your blood pressure in control. By reducing your bad cholesterol (LDL), limiting salt or sodium in your diet, maintaining a healthy weight and by adding different nutrients, like vitamin, calcium and magnesium etc. to your food, you can surely do something positive in this respect.

Take the following eight foods to keep a control over your blood pressure:

1: Skimmed milk:

It is very effective for the purpose as it contains calcium and vitamin D. There minerals or nutrient help you to keep your blood pressure in control by reducing it by tens percent or so.

2: Spinach:

It is also a very important thing for you to control your Blood Pressure (B.P.) as it has a rich source of magnesium which prevents hypertension. Apart from these, you should also try some other foods that are very rich in magnesium like almonds, cashews etc.

3. Unsalted sunflower seeds:

These seeds have rich deposit of magnesium that prevents the high rise of BP. It has also a rich deposit of vitamin D in it.

4: Beans (black, white, navy, lima, pinto, kidney):

Most of these food products are rich sources of magnesium, which is a key factor for reducing and maintaining low blood pressure. They are also known for their rich content of potassium also.

5: Banana:

Two bananas a day is believed to be a very wholesome diet for those who suffer from irregular blood pressure. These bananas are good alternatives for drugs that are chiefly responsible for lowering the blood pressure. A research made in 1997 shows that the people who took five bananas a day were able to save themselves from the effects of low blood pressure.

6: Baked Sweet Potatoes:

This food stuff has a rich source of potassium which is one of the chief factors that controls the low blood pressure. These amazing potatoes are called powerhouse of potassium.

7: Soybeans:

Soybeans are very good source of potassium and sodium. These foods maintain the low blood pressure and help the body to protect itself from the harmful effects of the disease. Sodium helps to raise the low pressure. You must follow the diet restriction as prescribed by your doctor.

8: Dark Chocolates:

This must be very good news for many as everybody, irrespective of age, loves to eat chocolates. But, medically, you are advised to take dark chocolates only as these chocolates are good for maintaining a low blood pressure without increasing the weight of the body as most of the milk chocolates do.
