You may have felt and appeared magnificent! But do not lose your nerve if this beautiful look of yours is not back after the birth. Your path to get back your lost radiance will be shown by Nutritionist Suzanne Olivier.

Pregnancy is the only time when women look a lot more beautiful and tranquil. But once your pregnancy period gets over you tend to look dry, strained, your hair looks sagging, your nails turn fragile, your skin turns dried out.

* Beating the baby blues
* Get engaged in some work
* Going outdoors with your baby quite often
* Start practicing swimming after you give birth.
* Pregnancy & Baby Home

It is during the pregnancy period that the mother gets this glowing look because of the increase in the hormones that benefit her by giving that elegant look and helps her to calm her soul. Her energy levels are also heightened by the increased adrenaline rush because of the baby. The mother is also providing full nourishment so as to help her baby develop into a healthy one.

Sadly, mother’s beauty maintenance takes a backseat after the birth of the baby and while rearing up her baby. Being careful of the given things will turn helpful for you to regain your previous glow as fast as possible:

*It is vital for you to maintain a well composed diet. Begin your day with a nourishing low-sugar breakfast of whole grains such as toast, cereal and porridge as well as fruits. Start taking up snacks which are good for your health, such as, crisp breads, fruits and yoghurt. The protein content in your most important meal should be less. Take up loads of low-GI carbs , for example, pasta, brown rice, salad, green vegetables and roasted potato. Starting your meals with a bowl of vegetable soup and fresh fruit desserts is good for your health.

* Be very careful about including all the important fatty acids that you require in your diet. Omega-3 and omega-4 are highly important for your baby during pregnancy as it helps in the development of the brain and nervous tissues. Hence, stack up your reserves with walnuts, mackerel/salmon, omega-3 contained eggs and sunflower/pumpkin seeds.

* Your intake of zinc-rich food should be increased as it is required for baby growth as well as for keeping your hair, skin and nails healthy. The best forms of food recommended are seeds, nuts, meats and eggs.

* To guarantee skin elasticity, Vitamin C is of great importance as it is needed for mending the collagen. Fruits such as, strawberries, blackcurrants, kiwis, citrus fruit and cabbage, broccoli and pepper contain this important vitamin.

•    You might be slightly anaemic in nature, especially if you are feeling tired and looking pale and dry. Apart from getting a test done from the doctor, also start eating eggs, cheese, iron-fortified cereals and red meat as their highly rich in protein content.
