Healthy Diet For Improving The Eyesight

Eyes are the most important assets of a human being. More than 13 million people in the U.S.A. suffer from macular degeneration and a heavy percentage of the Americans have cataracts. According to the different researches made in the field of eye ailment, it is found that the majority of those ailments can be cured by taking care of the diet. In a similar research made by the National Eye Institute, it is advised that diets rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin D, lutein and zeaxanthin, and omega-3.

If you want to get good and healthy eyes and sharp eyesight, you must try to maintain the following advice in your diet:

1: Carrot
It is a very important food item for a healthy pair of eyes. It is loaded with carotene, an antioxidant that helps to minimize and controls the growth of macular degeneration which is the chief reason for the disease.

2: Bell Peppers, Broccoli & Brussels Sprouts
These three Bs are very good for the eyes as all of them are rich source of Vitamin C which is another essential antioxidant for the eyes. You can prepare different dishes with these and get the source to your body.

3: Ostrich
Any kind of red or white meat (including beef, chicken, turkey, pork etc) is very good for the eyes. Meat of ostrich is also very good for your eyesight as it is a rich source of protein, zinc and iron which help to maintain the health of your eyes and eyesight.

4: Turkey
The meat of Turkey is also very good for your eyes as it contains zinc. You can take the meat of turkey with salad which will give you a very good and delicious taste.

5: Sweet potatoes and Spinach
Both these food stuffs are very useful for your eyes as they contain very essential ingredients that protect your eyes from the harmful effects of living or diet. They are rich source of Vitamin C and carotene which reduce the macular degeneration also.

6: Wild Salmon and Sardines
Finally, these two foods are ultimately good for your eyes as they have omega-3 fats which are essential for reducing the harmful effects of the cataract. You should try to take two to three 4-ounce portions each week.
