Healthy Dining Out – A Few Tips
What you eat is what you look. Everybody understands the necessity of eating the right and healthy food. However, that certainly does not mean that you will avoid going out for eating. Most health conscious people dread eating out. They fear over eating or eating unhealthy calorie rich food.
Just follow these few simple steps the next time you are out and get rid of this fear.
1. Eat before Leaving: Never head to a restaurant on an empty stomach. The more the hunger, the more you will binge. It is advisable that you have a light snack before leaving home. This way you would not end up binging at the sight of food.
2. Choose your liquids: While dining out, choose your liquid very carefully. Experts suggest that you should opt for fresh juices, lemonades or water instead of alcohol.
3. Beware of Appetizers: More than often, the appetizers are tasty and high in calorie. Just the sight of it will make you salivate. It is important not to binge on appetizers. Do have them but in limited quantity.
4. Opt for salad: If possible, opt for salads. However, be careful with the dressings. Not all salads aid in weight loss. Choose a vinegar dressing over a mayonnaise one.
5. Take Small Helpings: Do not take huge heaps of food on your plate at one go. It is advisable to go for small helpings. Keep refilling as and when required.
6. Do not eat your Heart Out: Experts advise that in order to stay healthy, you should eat only one fourth of your appetite. Anything more is not healthy.
7. Choose the Sweet dish: Instead of ordering a pudding, ice cream or soufflé, go for fresh fruits. Not only are they tasty but also healthy.
8. Order Sensibly: Do not get lured by dishes made with calorie rich cheese, red meat and fried stuff.
So the next time you are out dining, follow these steps and stay healthy.
