If you ask me to choose between tea and coffee I would definitely choose tea as a health drink. Tea contains a lot of flavonoids which can really account for the health factor. You can choose among the black, green or some in between shades. It helps fight damage of cells and also helps prevent cancer and heart disease. Another important factor to keep healthy is eating your breakfast on the right time.Even when you are asleep at night, the body burns the calories to keep you alive and so you need to fill yourself up in the morning when you wake up.

Breakfast helps the mind and body to function properly and burn more calories. So you should be eating more at breakfast and also in a healthy way to get started off for the day. Your dinner plates should be smaller. That doesn’t mean you should buy a whole new set of dinner ware but you can start using half plates for dinner, the ones you have been using for salads. This would help you to eat dinner in smaller portions.

You can choose bright colored foods. By bright colored foods  I mean the ones that contain Beta Carotene and all foods with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and so on. I am not obviously talking of tomato flavored and colored potato chips in any way. It is a crunchy carrot or bright juicy apples that I am talking of. You have to choose the healthier foods and feel what is nice for you. For grains, brown rice is healthier and so is brown bread.

According to the American Dietetic Association you should have a balance in the food you take – 25% of your plate should contain some lean meat, like chicken or turkey or beans, another 25% should contain potatoes, brown rice, or pastas and another 50 per cent should contain vegetables.

Vegetables are filled with nutrition and minerals and vitamins while they are low in calories. You have to have some snack in between meals. The snack can include carrots, cheese, pears, almonds and apples. Snack is something you can include daily but treat is something that you can go for once in a while. The treat includes chips, candies and cookies.

That’s it. You can add all of them and more to your regular eating habits.
