Healthy Food Choices For Women During Pregnancy

Pregnancy period is a very critical time for the to-be mother and her family members especially her husband. The health of the woman depends largely upon the diet that she takes normally during this period. It becomes difficult for one to decide which is good for her and which is not. It satisfies me very much when I see calorie count of the food on the billboard of different restaurants like McDonalds and other big and reputed restaurants.

It is not important where you go to take a meal, but it is of more importance that you have visited a restaurant to enjoy the feeling of togetherness. Selecting the right menu from the menu card is of equally importance. Though the calorie numbers are written there, you sometimes ignore this and make the mistake of doing so. What things should you take care while on a visit to reputed restaurant? How do you decide which food is good for you?

Take care of the advices listed here to make your visit to a restaurant memorable for one and all:

· Try to eat more vegetables and fruits.

· Take in most of your carbohydrates as whole grains. Just ignore white foods.

· Get the necessary amount of protein from meat products like chicken, lean meat and fish etc.

But if you are a pure vegetarian, try to find your stuff to get the supply of protein by yourself.

· Avoid soda water and juices as they contain huge amount of calories.

· Do not overburden your tummy with extra food. Listen to your belly and stop eating the moment you are full.

· Try to keep yourself engaged in your work. Go for an early morning walk, listen to good and soft music and call your friend when you need his company.

· Avoid doing anything else while eating. Concentrate on your food and enjoy every bit of it.

Believe in the ideal statement of ‘Eat to live and not live to eat’. Take care of yourself and enjoy good and sound health. Do not try to listen to your tongue and always try to be more careful towards your stomach.
