Kids can be very annoying at time with their unclean habits but you have to putup with all these if you are a mother. A child’s well being is the only happiness for his mother and she tries in every way to look into  it. Head lice are a common enough problem in kids who work and play  together in school. So when the child brings a lot of work from school,  he might also carry another hassle along with him which is head lice.

Severity of this infection can cause Typhus Fever but the worst part is to scratch the head at all odd hours. There is no respite from this unusual itchiness in the head when the lice bite. And these little creatures spread very fast, making them uncontrollable in a day or so. As a mother, it is our duty to look into this problem the little child has to bear with for which he might throw tantrums, lack concentration and become restless. In older days lice was treated with olive oil, mayonnaise, or petroleum jelly. Mayonnaise is also used to get rid of nits in the hair.

Products with Pyrethrin and Permethrin are available in the market and these are safe for humans. There are other products that are based on herbs. Basil leaves are said to drive away head lice. Whatever it is,
lice have to be cured and the best method suitable for driving away lice is to be done. The hair should be cleaned with a fine-toothed comb. Pillow cases and hair brushes are to be cleaned in hot water and soap.
Cetaphil lotion can be applied to the whole scalp. It is to be left for about 8 hours and then the hair is shampooed. This has to be repeated for three weeks. If the problem goes on, you should visit the doctor.
