ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN SPORTS: Encourage your child to take part in sports from a very young age. Enroll your child in some clubs where he can take up his favorite sport. This will give the child the right amount of confidence and sporty attitude!
BRUSH UP PUBLIC SPEAKING ABILITY: Encourage your child to speak publicly. If he is shy, then talk to the teachers at school and ask them to question your child more often. Encourage your child to take part in debate competitions, drama and extempore.
ENROLL FOR DRAMA CLASSES: Drama is a good way of showcasing talent and boosting confidence as well. Performing in front of a huge audience gives a high to a child’s confidence.
GIVE YOUR CHILD IMPORTANCE: If you think your child is strong and competent, ask him to help you when needed. This will make him feel important and confident about himself.
NO COMPARISONS PLEASE!: Don’t compare your child’s ability to anyone else’s. This will make your child feel wanting or over confident in some cases.
SELF – RELIANCE: If your child is worried or ensnared in some problem, give him tips to get out of the situation. Do not probe into it too much. A little help and guidance will show him the right way.
SHOW THAT YOU CARE: The best way to keep your child confident and happy is by showing that you care! Discuss his problems. Ask about his school life and friends. Show concern in every part of his life.
These are some tips that will help you build confidence in your child. Remember, your child will be self – reliant only with your help and support. Encourage him in every sphere of his life and your child will grow up into a confident, self – assured being.
