Do you bring home food and completely forget about it till it turns stale and starts stinking? Then these tips will help you cope up with this problem. There are simple ways to ensure longer freshness of food. We tell you how!

CLEAN YOUR REFRIGERATOR FREQUENTLY: Clean up your refrigerator quite often. Use baking soda as a disinfectant. Cleaning up the refrigerator helps to keep food fresh.

CLOVES KEEP ANTS AT BAY: Spread some cloves under the sink of your kitchen and on the floor as well. Cloves keep ants away.

BAY LEAVES: Keep few bay leaves under the pack of dough, rice and other things that attracts insects. Bay leaves don’t let insects or lice reside in the packs. Make sure to change the leaves once every two months as well.

POTATO FIGHTS STINK: Place a peeled potato in the refrigerator. It will absorb the stink from any stale food in the fridge. Change it if it goes black in color.

STORE EGGS KEEPING THE POINTED END DOWN: Keeping eggs with the pointed ends down will keep them fresh for a long time.

TOMATOES AND CUCUMBER SHOULDN’T BE STORED TOGETHER: Never store tomatoes and cucumber together in a tray. Tomatoes release certain gas which makes the cucumber rot fast. So make sure they are kept apart from each other.

APPLES KEEP BREAD FRESH: Keep a slice of apple with the bread in the refrigerator. This keeps the bread fresh for a longer time.

STORE RADISH IN A JAR OF COLD WATER: Radish should be stored in a jar of cold water. This keeps it fresh and crispy.

STORE AMERICAN CHEESE WITH SUGAR CUBES: Place a sugar cube where you store American cheese. The sugar absorbs all the moisture and keeps the cheese fresh.

These simple tips can help you to keep your food fresh for a long time!
