How to Treat Dandruff

Dandruff is a tricky hair problem and quite difficult to get rid of. But curing this problem is not impossible altogether. In fact you can try out various things at home for the same.

An exploration of the kitchen can itself unfurl to you various treasure hoards of knick knacks which will be of immense efficacy in solving the ugly problem of dandruff. We are giving you some tips here which you can avail:-

-Make a paste out of a teaspoon of soaked fenugreek leaves and apply it onto your scalp and then rinse off after 30 minutes. Into a mug of water add some lime juice (say a teaspoon) and wash you hair with this immediately after you have washed your hair with shampoo.

-Boil some beetroot and apply that solution to your scalp every night with the help of a cotton ball.

-A mixture of amla juice and lime juice can be applied on to your scalp every night for getting rid of dandruff.

-Massage the hair and scalp with curd and then wash off after 30 minutes.

-Mix one part of Cider vinegar with 3 parts of water and wash your hair with this solution.

-A massage with warm coconut oil twice in a week.

-A massage with olive oil at night

-Mix crushed garlic with a tablespoon of lime juice and apply it on to your scalp and then wash off after 10 minutes.

-Apply the juice of onion on your scalp and then wash it off with the help of a shampoo.

-Other domestic stuffs like rosemary, honey, brandy, tea leaves etc can also cure dandruff.

Diet for curing dandruff

A proper diet which includes fresh fruits and leafy vegetables are also good for curing dandruff. Fish oil has proved remedial for the same. Nuts, sprouts, dark green vegetables are good for healthy scalp and hair. Take foods which are rich in Vitamin A. but vitamin supplements should be taken only after consulting a doctor.

Prevention of dandruff

One of the worst characteristic of dandruff is that it keeps coming back. So you have to take consistent care of your hair. You have to maintain a healthy scalp. Given below are certain methods you may apply for the same:-

-Wash you hair at least two times in a week and more so in humid weather conditions.

-Avoid exposing your hair in extreme weather conditions. Use some scarf or other head gear to protect your hair from extreme heat or cold.

-Always apply conditioner after washing your hair. Sometimes you may also apply a leave-in conditioner to make your hair more shiny and silky.

-Don’t comb wet hair and always use a wide toothed comb.

-Reduce stress by exercising or yoga. A healthy mind and body will get reflected in your healthy hair.
