Idle parenting means happy children
It is a hard world for the children. The work ethic around is a threat to the tender childhood years when it’s time for him to romp about and play. A work obsessed government is all for tests and targets thus taking away the childhood years from our children. We had had a much carefree childhood where our leisure time was not attached by the commercialism and the virtual computer world. There is a rule about how a child should be educated and the first to last rule spells out the only doctrine, to leave him alone. The parents who are too pushy give them a childhood that is stress filled and full of competition.
The children’s busy days are filled with activities like art projects, sport, piano, tennis, judo and ballet. At home it is the computer training. In between they have to listen to tapes on educational maters. The mothers with unfulfilled wishes often cram the children’s heads with the fear of a doting employer over their heads. Soon the children are at their play stations that bring some sort of physicality to their games while most of them soon have their own Blackberries.
It is the idling mantra that should be imbibed in both the parents. Indulge in some activity of your own and stop worrying and getting over anxious about the kids. That will make life happier. Teach them to grow up themselves and you will soon have self sufficient and productive children. You as mothers ought not to be careless enough so that the child burns his hands in the fire or falls from the fifth floor balcony. That’s being careless. But teach them to be carefree and develop their own individuality. He is capable of shouldering his own responsibility. That’s the road to good parenting.
