Is Seatbelt A Necessity When You Are Pregnant?
The rush of motor vehicle is increasing each and everyday and every user of the motor vehicle should follow the safety rules very seriously. This situation becomes even grimmer when we look at the statistics of accidents due to rash driving that take place almost everyday. Even if you are a serious user of your vehicle, you can not stop others from driving rashly.
If you are carrying your unborn baby in your womb, then you must be extremely careful about yourself to care the child. One of the most important safety rules includes the use of seat belts while in the moving cars.
Follow the safety rules listed here:
•If your car has airbags, it is very good. But even though your airbag is on, don’t ignore your seatbelt. In fact, there is no use of the airbag without the seatbelt.
•Adjust your seatbelt in such a manner that the lap part comes just under your tummy and the shoulder part remains between your breasts.
•Do not create any pressure on your abdomen area as it would be harmful for the child.
•If you, yourself, are driving the car, you should place yourself as far as possible. Also your tummy should be placed at least ten inches away from the steering wheel.
•If you are sitting at the backseat of the car, it is the safest place for you to sit. But still do not ignore the importance of the seatbelt.
Unfortunately, if you happen to meet with an accident, inform the rescue persons that you are pregnant and allow them to take you to the nearest hospital or a nursing home, if you are feeling some sort of uneasiness. You must consult a D.G.O., the doctor who is specialist of the pregnancy cases. Inform him everything about your case and help him to take care of your baby, if you happen to get hit at the tummy area in the accident. Most importantly, do not lose your patience and stay cool to avoid increase in the blood pressure.
