Well it may sound a bit awkward but in this mobile world today there is no dearth of long distance lovers. But falling in love is easy but maintaining is pretty difficult especially if you are separated by long distance and even countries. He who said that distance increases the fondness of the heart may not have gone through all the hassle of long distance relationships. But still they thrive and here’s how:

Contact:

You cannot simply remain aloof and think that your love is blooming. Always keep touch with one another daily. If the phone bills are too much then there is the net. Make cheap calls over the net, send emails and fax. Where there’s a will there’s a away.

Date:

Make sure to meet up often. If you think it’s going to be costly then you should have thought about it long ago. Plan your dates carefully so that your partner will be looking forward to this day.

Commitment:

Reaffirm your commitment to one another and listen to the concerns and the problems of your partner. Do not feel suspicious and jealous it will only lead to a break up, the last thing perhaps you want.

Share:

Sharing information about your life and work, discussing the problems and solving them together is a time tested method to make your relationship work. Tell her about your friends and family and also encourage her to do the same. You may live separately but you should be well aware of the happenings in your partner’s life.

Value:

Value and treasure your partner. Keep the relationship high priority and always plan ahead of the future. Never ever cancel any meet and get together. Always plan to live in the same city in the near future and assure her about it.
