It might be easier to create a relationship but it is tougher to maintain it forever. There are very few people on this planet who have succeeded in retaining a successful, happy, and satisfactory relationship for a long time. Many relationships have failed to pass the test of time forcing the people involved to choose separate ways.

These include relationships between parents and sons or daughters, relationships between friends, and relationships between life partners. But there are steps that you can take to make your relationship with your partner or child a healthier one.

Quite often we fail to appreciate the time and energy the other person is putting into a relationship. We take their love, affection, and caring for granted. You can change this attitude and tell them that you know what a great effort they are putting in. Acknowledge their presence and commitment.

There are many little things that we overlook. However, to maintain a healthy relation, it is important that you pay attention to small desires, expectations, and dreams of your family members. This will encourage them and tell them that you care.

You can express you love through small gestures. Wish your partner and children on special occasions. Wishing your wife or partner on anniversaries may seem unimportant to many but for the other person, it can hold enormous importance.

Try not to miss special occasions in your child’s school. Your children may not tell you but they will expect your presence. Indulge in fun and other activities with them. Share the fears, confusions, and complicated feelings that they are experiencing. Your attention will mean a lot to them.

Finally, tell your loved ones that you like them the way they are. This will make them secured and less self-conscious. In any relationship, we need to embrace the other person along with all their shortcomings. So, use these tips to improve your relationships.
