Maternity Garments for Care and Comfort
Pregnancy is a time when you must take high care of yourself. You need to wear comfortable dresses during this time. Specially created maternity attires can be easily found. But you should remember the following things while buying maternity wears:
Fabric = comfort:
In the pregnant condition women’s BMR is generally high. So it is normal to feel warmer. Cotton in the summer and wool in the winter are the most suitable fabrics for a pregnant woman. Do not buy synthetic materials because it won’t let you feel comfortable.
Supportive garments:
You dress must have panels or elastic bands to give dome extra support to the abdominal area. You should buy Wrap around dresses and garments with adjustable waist.
Lingerie:
Pregnant woman’s lingerie must be both comfortable and supportive.
Maternity bras
During pregnancy breasts become enlarged. So the bra should be wide at the sides and much stretchable at the backs with four sets of hooks. Buy bras exclusively designed for pregnant ladies instead of lager sized normal bras. During the breastfeeding period wear nursing bra. It can be opened at the front. It is better to buy a nursing bra at the last phase of pregnancy for good fittings.
Maternity panties:
Panties should have elastic or panels to give support to the abdomen area.
Maternity support hoses:
They are needed if you are an inheritor of the varicose veins. Discuss with specialists about the fittings of the stockings.
Other accessories
Colostrum [Yellowish fluid] is generated from 4th month onwards of the pregnancy. It is normal that this fluid comes out through a leakage. If this happens to you do not irritate your breasts. You can use breast pads of course.
Flat nipples create problems while breastfeeding. Wear plastic shells under the bra. These shells create pressure so that the nipples can come out. But talk to your doctor before using it.
