Nausea can be caused from any unusual physical condition. It could be some stomach flu that is persistent, overeating, migraine, concussion, drug overdose, motion sickness, and other conditions. Nausea is also referred to as morning sickness in pregnant women in the first trimester of pregnancy.

If you are really keen on learning how to get symptomatic relief from nausea, here is help. If nausea happens a little after taking food, it could be due to peptic ulcer or food poisoning.

You would be able to prevent this condition if you eat short meals at regular intervals. You have to avoid fried food, sweet or greasy foods which are difficult to digest. If you feel nauseated because of taking hot food, you can cook it at room temperature before you cool that. You may lie down after eating and keep the head elevated and some inches above the feet. This helps. Drinking water between two major meals help. You should be sure to drink eight ounce glasses of water so that there is no dehydration.

In the morning if you feel nauseated when you wake up, you can eat some crackers and then get out of bed. This is especially for pregnant women who feel morning sickness just after opening their eyes.

The best remedy for nausea is ginger in any form. In a glass of water add some powdered ginger and drink that up. You can also get ginger ale, ginger candy, ginger snaps to get rid of nausea. If you do not have ginger ale, you can make the ginger syrup with seltzer water. Nausea is not some illness on its own but it is a condition that could be the prelude to many types of illnesses. Therefore such conditions where nausea happens should be avoided. It is an extremely awkward feeling and it can make a person feel very sick.
