Getting a pedicure done at home is quite a costly comfort these days, but it does not necessarily say that you should go without it. All you have to do is just learn and do it on your own. Making your feet look pretty should be the fundamental function of a pedicure. This can be easily done at home by using a few things.

Before you start off with your at home pedicure process, you need a few things which are absolutely essential. They are nail polish, cotton balls, a lotion, a foot tool (in general they have a cheese grater function and an emery board). A separate glossy covering is advised along with the color.

In order to utilize your time properly, get hold of your favorite movie or book as because pedicures take up a lot of time in general.

Firstly, soak your feet in the water until the skin gets soft. A perfect solution to that is to get a nice bubble-bath. Start scraping gently the skin using the pedicure tool until most of the dead skin is removed. Clippers, at times, can be useful to remove the top-most hard layers of dead skin.

I have a pair of socks that had gone holey on me, and I cut the toes off of them. This serves several purposes. First of all, my feet do not get cold during a pedicure, which in colder climates they will, and you long for socks way before the polish is dry. Second of all, if I slather Vaseline on the really dry and hard spots, they will warm up and soften as I paint my nails. A nice lotion does the same, but Vaseline really gets the job done.

As soon as your skin looks radiant and fresh, start clipping your toenails to the desired length. This happens to be a good time to do some toenail scraping for removing dirt and debris that have a tendency to trap odors and tarnish the color of your nails.

Pampering your feet to the best things is not the actual secret, but how long the nail polish remains in your toe nails.

This actually requires a professional touch to get the perfect polish done. And this is the reason why it takes so long to get a pedicure even when your feet is soft, even nails and the polish being done for you.
