Becoming pregnant is one of the most cherished moments in a woman’s life. Nothing can be more fulfilling than the thought that you can create a new life out of your own existence.  Becoming a mother is the most joyful moment of your life particularly after nine long months of enduring both the pleasure and the pain of pregnancy. However along with joy pregnancy has a lot of side effects and a woman should always take good care of her health because it directly influences the health of the child.

Proper nutrition during pregnancy is of utmost importance because at this moment you have to take care of two lives and not one. As the foetus takes nutrition out of the mother’s body the parent body keeps losing nutrition. Calcium and vitamin deficiency are particularly prevalent among the pregnant women. Not only this, the body often tends to lose nutrition due to regular vomiting and also due to some particular change of food habits. A pregnant woman generally develops antipathy towards protein rich food like fish, meat etc and develops a fascination for pickles and sour tasting items that have low food value.

Even if you yearn for pickles and all the junk foods avoid them as much as you can. Start taking lot of vegetables and fruits. Milk and health drinks are also good but they should obviously be prescribed by your doctor. Vitamin tablets recommended by your doctor can prove to be quite useful. Quit smoking and drinking at this particular phase of life. The harmful smoke can give rise to several complications in the child and may result in underweight or deformed child. Regular yoga or light exercise may also help. Stretch marks during the pregnancy may lead to ugly looking tummy and lose skin. Follow regular massage therapy and make those 9 months the most cherish able moments of your life.
