Babies are particularly susceptible to food poisoning as their immunity system are not very well developed and most of the time they generally suffer from stomach problems, food poisoning etc that can become a serious threat to the lives of the babies.

However you may feel glad to know that preventing such disasters is really very easy if you maintain certain basic hygiene while preparing food in the kitchen and can avert any great health disaster in the case of babies.

Personal Hygiene:

Personal hygiene is of top most priority in case of protecting your child’s health. Always use soaps and antiseptics before preparing the food . Take special care to prepare baby food. Wash the bottles in warm water and dry and then wipe them clean before filing them up with milk or food.

Kitchenware:

Take special care to clean the kitchenware thoroughly. After cutting vegetables and meat always put the cutting surface in the dishwasher to clean them. Also do the same for the knives and other utensils.

Special care in Case of Beef, Pork:

Beef and pork may contain some worms like that of tape worm. These worms complete a part of their life cycle within the human body and if the meat is not cooked properly they can get in the human body and can even affect the brain. Also it is highly advised that you keep the raw meat away from baby food.

Avoid Preserved Food:

Nitrates are commonly used for the preservation of the canned food. Avoid them along with processed cheese and artificial flavours. Also some babies are highly allergic to honey during the first year.

Eggs:

Always boil the eggs or cook them properly till the white is stiff enough. It is not advised to give the babies half boiledeggs.
