So you have been slaving your heart out in the kitchen and you need some respite out of this slavery. You can now stop slaving over a burning hot stove and find out some quality time for the kids. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, day in and day out but we cannot really get out of some bad habits that we have imbibed watching others in the kitchen since our very childhood. If you see someone peeling garlic one by one and ask her why she has been peeling garlic or onion that way, the answer would probably be “because that’s the way I do it”. But if you unlearn a few things, the time that is spent in the kitchen can be reduced. You can change your life by following the shortcuts.

You can keep a set of knives handy. It is best to have more than one knife at hand. You can keep them clean and out of the drawer when you start cooking so that work is easier. You have to have a pair of kitchen scissors ready for doing some pruning and cutting. These are very handy tools and if you are setting up kitchen accessories, they help you a lot. You can use them to snip off herbs, chop ham, cut spring onions, and cut the fat off bacon. You also have to learn to crush garlic like they show on TV. You can put them on a cutting board and take a broad knife and chop them or crush them as needed. Chopping an onion is simple but there is no need to peel an onion. You can cut it at the sides and then slice it through. That way it can be peeled off fast and easy.

Therefore with these very few simple procedures, we can unlearn what we have learnt earlier on and save much of our time in order to stay stress free and relaxed. This also works for our wellness as doing things the proper way in kitchen helps in preparing healthy food for out well being. That way it gives you more time to spend with your kids.
