Our body is the best asset we have and we should do everything in our power to keep it safe and free from diseases and away from harm. It is always important to be preventive than finding a cure afterwards. So, do check yourself for chances of breast cancer before it gets too late. Breast cancer is one of the worst things that can happen to a woman and there are ways to detect it. A simple self examination at home can keep your mind away from worries.

Take a good look at your breasts while standing in front of the mirror. If you have any rashes, or dimples or wrinkles, then get it checked out by a doctor ASAP.

Lean forward and check in the mirror as to whether your breasts have any asymmetry other than a slight difference in size. Any deformation or asymmetry should be reported to a doctor immediately.

Probe your tissues of the left breast in a spiral pattern from its outer edges to the center. Feel the outermost tail of the breast tissue that reaches up to the armpit. See if you have any new lumps in the armpits as well. If you feel any sort of lumps or a change in texture or feel, go and consult a doctor.

Now check your right breast in the same way as the left. See if you feel any change in texture or feel or feel any lump like a pea or bigger. If yes, then rush to the doctor.

Remember, no matter in what way you do your examination, you should always consult the doctor if you find any irregularities. Being safe is better than being sorry. And breast cancer is worse than being sorry.
