For all you ladies, who feel guilty over buying a pair if shoes or a crockery set ( which won’t find a use at least for a year! ) there is a good news. Recent surveys revealed that going on a shopping spree might be good for your mental health. In fact, it has antidepressant like efficacy which makes mundane life interesting. All over the World, studies show that women are emotionally more stressed out than men. They
play multiple roles throughout their lives like cooking, cleaning,  raising kids and also managing finances as well as jobs, all at the same  time.

We might take them for granted, but this monotonous life with so much to do, leave them empty and can lead to several psychosomatic disorders, in which depression and suicidal tendency top the chart. Going for a shopping expedition, buying things bring about a sense of accomplishment and achievement, which has scientifically shown to release happy chemicals like Nitrogen Oxide within ( which make us feel happy ). Shopping has been proven to be a major mood lifter for most women. In a recent survey on people suffering from Compulsive Shopping Disorder and Kleptomania, antidepressant administration seemed to calm down the symptoms. It is an indirect indication that severely depressed people tend to shop more. So, as far as you don’t pickup things without paying, enjoy your time out and have a happy shopping experience. It is therapeutic to pamper yourself. And next time your husband makes a face about going to a shopping mall, giving n-number of excuses and trying to  convince you not to develop the ‘ harmful habit of shopping’ tell him it  is a better bargain than visiting a shrink – he will happily oblige.
