There are some myths that are related to shampooing the hair but all are not right. Let’s get to know some correct things and the next time you shampoo your hair, you would be doing the right things for yourself.

You have always known that working up a great lather means getting your hair very clean. But that is not the fact as suds are just made for the psychological effect. Foaming happens when the surfactant molecules get in touch with the air and create a lot of air bubbles. The head should be covered with enough lather to moisten the scalp and hair and a quarter size blob of your favourite shampoo will work up lather enough to clean the hair.

It does not harm your hair to wash your hair everyday. Using a mild shampoo that does not strip your hair out of all the essential natural oils will help. Shampoos that contain moisturizing ingredients are better and these include panthenol, shea butter, silicones which are good for the hair. Staying away from harsh formulae really helps.

It is always best to shampoo your hair and follow it with a conditioner because a shampoo that contains conditioner will not do the job well. So you should allow your hair to get hydrated and for better results hair shampooing should be followed with a conditioner.

It is often told that it works when it is a better shampoo and you have to switch shampoos to the one that suits the hair best. There is not the case of hair suiting to a shampoo because hair is dead and it cannot get suited to any brand. It is best for you to find out which hair shampoo suits you and go accordingly. So now, whether it is an age old formula or new, the best way is to find out which ingredient suits your hair the best and start applying that rightaway.
