Tackle Discolored Nails with Simple Methods
Beautiful nails play a great role in attracting people. No matter how much time and money you spend on make up and your appearance, all of it will go waste if you do not pay enough attention to the beauty of your nails. Yellow fingernails and toenails are big turn offs. People who use too much nail polish run the risk of facing this problem. However, there are some easy remedies that you can use to make your nails look white and healthy.
Apart from taking care of your gums and teeth, toothpastes are also useful in whitening your nails. Apply a bit of toothpaste on the discolored nails and then scrub it with a toothbrush. Make sure that the bristles of the brush are soft enough. Use this method twice or thrice a day and the yellow spots will vanish.
Another option is to go for some lemon juice application. We all know that this citrus fruit is quite efficient in removing stains from clothes and other objects. Put one tablespoon of lemon into a bowl of water and soak your fingernails and toenails in it.
You can directly apply sliced lemons on the discolored areas of your nails. Rub the lemon gently and see the result. You should do this twice a week for best results.
Another option is to make a mixture by adding one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of baking powder. Apply this mixture on your nails and then polish your nails with a nail buffer. Wash your hands and use moisturizer on the dry hands.
You can also keep your fingernails for 15 minutes in a solution created by dissolving denture tablets in water. Wash your nails afterwards. You should do this thrice a week.
Make a mixture of three tablespoons of baking soda and one-tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide and put the paste on your nails. Wash them with water after 10 minutes, dab them with towel and apply a quality moisturizer. You can even pour nails cleaner on a cotton ball and rub your nails with it.
These simple methods will help you tackle the problem of discolored and stained nails.
