The health problems women face with Crohn’s disease
Crohn’s disease is a disease that can be checked through proper diet intake. Any illness is a lot of suffering and pain in case of all sufferers. This disease is a series of gynecological problems. Crohn’s disease can be very problematic in case of women who experience a severity in the disease. This affects her cycle of menstruation, her reproductive system and also the ability to reproduce. The effects of this is discussed as follows.
In case of women facing Crohn’s disease women are said to have irregular cycles of menstruation in case of over ninety per cent women. The body acts quite abnormally and this has more severe symptoms along with an inflammation in the intestinal tract as well as signs of malnutrition.
In severe cases of Crohn’s disease there could be vaginal complications. This is described as fistula which is a tunnel sort of thing developed abnormally that forms ulcers in the digestive track. This fistula connects the vagina with the rectum. This causes a lot of pain and also has side effects like pus, abscess while passing faeces or gas through the vagina. If there is any complication or pain after an intercourse or any other side effect the doctor should be consulted straight away.
Many people have the opinion that in case of Crohn’s disease in women, she cannot conceive. This is not true and a woman with Crohn has less possibilities of conception but they need to be careful of their health and any change in the body if they conceive. The problems seem to flare up and that leads to a lot of complications.
The complications of this disease may lead to miscarriage as a result of the dehydration and malnutrition associated with this disease. The women with Crohn’s disease are at a higher risk of miscarriage. Crohn’s disease can also lead to colon cancer and osteoporosis in females. If the woman is treated with steroid for the disease, there might be cases of osteoporesis. Colon cancer can be faced by the sufferers.
