Single parenting is not the easiest thing in the world and the situation is made worst by the fact that you will have no assistance from your spouse in bringing up your child. However if done properly it is also one of the most fulfilling experience of the world and there are many famous single parents and the list is continuously increasing and you can take inspiration from them.

Time:

It is a great disappointment that you will have no assistance while bringing up your child but it is also true that you will have much more time now to spend with your child without caring for other commitments. This is really very important for the child.

Talk:

Communication is the best bond in the relationship. You know your child is not getting the care of the parents as he or she deserves. Make it up by spending a certain amount of time in the day by talking to your child. This may be during the dinner time or lunch or whenever you have time. Tell him or her about your days experience and also encourage the child to do the same. This will make him realise the happiness and the sadness of life.

Discipline:

It is a trend among the single parents to be over sensitive about the child due to a sense of guilt. Be strict when it is required, the last thing you want to do is to spoil the child.

Accept:

You are a human being and you are bound to do mistakes. So if ever if have raised your voice unnecessarily or forgot to pack his tiffin just relax. We all make mistakes.

Support:

In your locality you are bound to find many organisations of single parents. Join them for support and advice.
