Breastfeeding in public places is often an embarrassing job for some moms. Vicki Scott gives you some advice on breastfeeding in public. She has been working for moms and babies for twenty yeas now and she is a maternity nurse, a qualified midwife and advisor.

Breastfeeding is public is the most natural thing you could do as a responsible mother. You should take pride in what you are doing. This feeling would let you feed anytime, anywhere outside your home. The more the moms are seen breastfeeding their babies, the more this sense of embarrassment is going to go from them and they would feel less uncomfortable and uncertain about this whole task of breastfeeding in  public.

If you have already mastered the technique of breast feeding at home, then you would feel more at ease doing it outside your home. You can start using a scarf or a shawl and any cover, for that matter. You will have to sit down and feel comfortable in a chair with a back rest. You can change your position at the café by not facing the people around. You have to have a glass of water ready at hand as this job encourages a lot of thirst. You have to choose some good nursing tops that can be unbuttoned and then cover yourself up with a scarf or shawl once the baby is comfortably held in your arms, would make you feel more confident and comfortable.

Many moms get used to it that it seems that she and the baby are having a cuddle and it is not at all apparent outside. Some shopping malls and stores have special rooms for resting and feeding the baby or changing the nappy.
