Here, I am providing you some guidelines that I had followed and have helped me eventually to shed some extra pounds. First and foremost, I gave up having any item or product made of bleached flour and went in for having whole-wheat flour and brown rice products.  Along with following the usual tradition three meals a day course, I also maintained eating more than a few smaller meals and most of the time, prepared my meals all by myself.

Now-a-days, a number of preparations that I do make are mostly grilled and steamed in preference to sautéing and deep frying. I prepare steamed or raw vegetables, for example: green vegetables –cabbage, bell papers, zucchini, cauliflower and broccoli by cutting them into finely bite-sized pieces. Then I season them by adding some small amounts of extra virgin olive oil, lime or lemon juice. Adding of especially fresh herbs, such as: mints, parsley, rosemary, tarragon and chives etc. enhances the flavor and these compliment as excellent side-preparations for any grilled protein dish, such as: salmon, chicken breast or pork tenderloin.

If you have no inclination in having vegetables in a raw form then grilling can serve as a wonderful alternative form. Having steamed vegetables benefits and allows your body to use all the essential nutrients contained in that vegetable. But be very careful of not over-cooking these vegetables as that procedure might remove all the available nutrients in it.

For me, grilling is my favorite way of preparing a piece of fish or meat and the flavor is even more enhanced by the wood and smoke instead of using a sauce which is , in general filled with butter. As your spice rack, it is best to try out different types of charcoal or wood.  For refreshments, I have strictly cut off myself from having junk foods such as : potato chips and have instead preferred to take up fresh fruits such as: bananas, pineapple, watermelon which have actually given a boost to my energy levels and have also removed the feeling of starving from me.
