The weeks, 14-27 is the best time to travel in your pregnancy. This is the time when you would be way past the morning sickness and there would be lesser chances of miscarriage. You should avoid travelling in early pregnancy when you have to go for the usual tests, the check ups, screening tests and scans.

You maust be aware of what complications you might face during the travel. You should learn a lot about the medical services at the destination. Only a few insurance services and policies would cover pregnancy and you would be asked to pay minimum premiums.

If you are pregnant you should not travel to places without vaccinations. You may consult the doctors. If you are visiting a country that needs you to take the vaccines for yellow fever, you have to take the necessary information from the travel agent. You might also need a certificate of exemption from the GP. The authorities at the Immigration Office would need this before you are allowed to go further.

Paludrine and Chloquine are very powerful drugs although they are thought to be safe for use during pregnancy. Therefore, it is better to travel to a place without any malaria outbreak and the plans can be discussed with the GP.

At the time of pregnancy, your body is vulnerable to infections and you could feel weak at times. You may have distaste for several types of food. Therefore, you should carry the foodstuff that you like to eat and are comfortable with. It is fine when you fly during pregnancy but if the case is complicated, with problems like high blood pressure, diabetes or spotting, you have to check with the doctor before you book the tickets. If you are careful enough to follow a health regimen and plan your travel accordingly, you would surely enjoy a wonderful travel.
