Treatment for Combination Skin
February 16, 2009
A soft and glowing skin is what everyone craves for. In case you have combination skin, follow the tips given below for taking care of your skin.
Cleansing
Firstly clean your skin with the help of a cleanser which is cream based. Then, apply a face wash like Clean & Clear especially on your nose and forehead. It is a fact that your chin, nose and forehead are oilier than the rest of your skin and hence you get pimples and blackheads mainly on these areas.
Kitchen made– for the above cleaning process you can make a paste of besan and water and apply it on your T-zone.
Once it dries up, scrub off this area and then wash it gently with lukewarm water. After cleaning you should apply moisturizer, only take care to use a little of it on your oily T-zone.
Exfoliation
Normally, a new layer of skin replaces the older one every 2 to 4 weeks. But even after the new layer has grown, the cruddy old skin just sits on your face and makes it look dull. Exfoliation helps to remove those dead skin cells and expose the fresh layer beneath. Your complexion can be markedly improved by this process in no time. Miniscule grit pieces are present in the exfoliators which help to dislodge the unwanted skin cells. But done handle your skin too roughly, it may be harmful for your skin, rub it gently. With age, reduce the frequency of exfoliation. For example, when you are 40, exfoliate once in 2 weeks.
Toning
This process helps to remove any make up that have remained even after cleaning. Also it balances the ph level of your skin and makes your skin glow and look fresh.
Kitchen made– mix egg white, malai and fuller’s earth and apply this paste onto your skin. Let it dry and then rinse off. You can use this recipe twice weekly.
Moisturizing
This is a very important part. Always keep your skin moisturized and supple. If you have oily skin, then go for an oil free moisturizer. Do this twice in a day. Before going to sleep wash off the moisturizer which you hae applied to allow your skin to breathe. But give your skin at least 30 minutes to imbibe the moisture and then you may wash it off.
Kitchen made– a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice make a very good natural moisturizer. Keep it for at least 10 minutes before you wash it off.
Sun protection– never stir out of your house without applying sunscreen lotion. Moisturizers with built-in sunscreens are less effective but it may be alright to use them if you are not staying out for long.
