Why Do You Want to Lose Weight?
December 5, 2008
Once there was a great pianist. After a great performance, a lady asking him to teach play piano like him approached him, and she was ready to give up everything in return. To which, the pianist replied, that she can never be as great a pianist as him, because if she really wanted to, she would have already given up everything and became a great pianist. It’s a bit rude way to put it, but it does prove a valid point. The sole point being, if we want to, we can do that.
Hence, what we need to understand is why do we want to do it. This would help us focus on our goals better. I can bet that there won’t be 1 reason why we want to be healthier and more beautiful.
We should start enlisting them, each and every one of them, and check if those reasons can motivate us to take actions necessary to be better than what we are now. You must have noticed, that there will be and has been a lot of times when we lost our goals, and then we noticed something or someone told us something which re-motivated us and helped us to focus back.
Take an example, any body. You will notice that they have tried a lot of ways to cut down on sweets and sugar and a lot of comfort foods. People wanted to give up as it had an unhealthy hold on their appetite; they ended up having the whole jar of cookies, or sometimes the want to have dessert after a stomach full of dinner.
At times it seems manageable, again it seems at times like a curse. But, the irony is you know that, but you cannot stop that. Until, another person pokes you and says, stop eating sugar now, and you would realize what you have been depriving your life from. Well, then you think and understand that eating excess sugar does numb your senses, and your taste buds, depriving you the fun of different flavors of food.
So, as I mentioned before, we should start by stating each individual reason of why we want to lose weight and lead a better life than binging on to sugar and sugary products.
You have no idea of what exactly will start the ball to roll, must be after stopping sugar binging we will find out a lot about ourselves, which we like.
