[toc]Bed sores or pressure ulcers as they are called are injuries to the skin or underlying tissues due to pressure. It can be caused due to friction, humidity or medication. They are treatable if detected early. It is very common with patients who are immobilized due to some disease.
Areas most prone to bed sores are buttocks, tailbone, spine, back of arms and back of legs. There are some natural treatments and remedies that can cure the bed sores as follows.

Aloe Vera has amazing healing properties, especially for skin related diseases and infections. Take some Aloe Vera lotion or cream and apply to the area of the bed sores. Aloe Vera works fast and effectively in curing bed sores. It brings soothing relief.
Wash The Wounds
Bed sores leads to wounds. To heal these wounds, they have to be washed and kept clean from infection. Wash the wounds with clean water and a mild soap, alcohol swabs, or salt water. Clean it twice a day and apply an antiseptic cream over it. The sores/wounds will heal faster.
Turmeric has properties which can remove infections and protect wounds. Take some turmeric powder and sprinkle it over the sores. Turmeric protects the sores from any sort of infection and helps it to heal faster.
Make a thick paste of honey and sugar and bandage the bed sores using a soft cotton bandage. The properties of honey begin to work and detoxify the wounds killing the germs. Remember not to dilute the honey, as that will make it ineffective.
Take some fresh milk of the papaya from the green raw fruit or from the trunk of the papaya. Soak a cotton bandage in this milk and apply it over the sores. Apply it three to four times a day and you will see that this will remove all the dead skin.
Petroleum jelly keeps the sores moist and boosts faster healing. Apply petroleum jelly to the sores, cover it with a piece of bandage and fix it with a tape. Apply this two to three times a day keeping the wounds covered the entire day. The wounds will be healed in a week.
Take a small quantity of powdered comfrey leaves and add to it slippery elm. Mix them together till it becomes a smooth paste. Put this paste over a piece of cotton cloth and put it over the sores. Keep it over night. After you remove it sprinkle some disinfectant powder over it. Continue to do this treatment for some days to see the effects.
For quick and faster healing of the sores, the body needs proteins and fibers. Add the following to your daily diet: beetroot, beans, lentil, rice barn and fruits. Adding these to your daily diet will fasten the process of healing and make good all the proteins lost by the body.
Milk Of Magnesia
Take some milk of magnesia in a bowl and add some iodine to it. Keep it aside for 30 minutes. Apply the mixture over the wounds three to four times a day. Within a week the signs of healing will be visible.
