8 Home Remedies For Dry Skin
Dry skin needs to be moisturized and nourished. Oils like olive oil, coconut oil and almond oil work wonders on dry skin.
Before a shower, heat some oil like olive oil or almond oil and massage over entire body. Wait for 15 minutes. Take a shower and then apply some light moisturizer. This way dry skin will remain nourished.
Glycerin And Rose Water
For moisturizing dry skin, use a homemade moisturizer. It will not only keep skin soft, but will also nourish skin and improve skin tone.
Take a cup of pure glycerin and add a cup of rose water to it. Also, add juice of one lemon to it. Mix the liquid well and store it in a bottle. After a bath and at bed time, apply this liquid on clean skin. Your skin will remain toned.
Milk Cream And Turmeric
Fresh milk cream keeps the skin hydrated and provides softness to the skin. Take a spoon of fresh milk cream and add a pinch of turmeric powder to it.
Also, add a few drops of lemon to it. Rub the paste on skin and leave for 5 minutes. Wash with warm water. Your skin will feel fresh. This pack also helps in reducing dark spots from skin.
Honey soothes dry skin and keeps it soft and moisturized. Just slather some honey on your face and leave it till honey dries off.
Wash face with warm water. Your skin will feel rejuvenated and moisturized. For a cleansing effect, a few drops of lemon juice can be added to honey.
Egg yolk contains fat and it softens skin. In a bowl take one egg yolk, a spoon of olive oil, a spoon of fresh orange juice and few drops of lemon. Mix the mixture well.
Apply on the skin and leave for 10 minutes. Wash thoroughly with warm water. Pat skin dry with a towel. This mixture will also remove dirt from face. It acts like a cleansing liquid.
Yogurt And Papaya
Yogurt contains lactic acid that cleanses skin. Papaya has got enzymes that repair damaged cells and keeps skin soft. Take a spoon of yogurt and add a spoon of mashed papaya to it.
You can apply this mask for 14 minutes and then wash with warm water. Alternatively, if you want to exfoliate dead cells, add half spoon of gram flour to the paste mentioned above. Apply all over the body and wash after the mask dries off.

Whatever you apply on skin to cure dryness will give you satisfactory results only if your skin is hydrated from inside. It means you need to take care of your diet so that the skin looks great from inside. Eat lots of vitamin C as it repairs skin cells.
Vitamin C is found in citrus fruits. Omega 3 fatty acids keep skin soft and supple as it has essential fatty acids in it. Omega 3 fatty acids are found in fishes, walnuts and flax seeds. Consume them regularly.
Water detoxifies skin and removes waste from body. It keeps the skin hydrated and lustrous.
