Iron

Iron deficiency is said to be associated with this syndrome. Have a varied diet high in iron, generally vegetarian diets are low in iron as compared to non vegetarian diets, but that can be overcome with a little bit if care. Have green leafy vegetables, beans are high in iron and do contain iron inhibitors. Grains which are high in iron should be soaked in warm water for eight to ten hours before cooking to reduce their phytic acid content before using as food for maximum iron absorption.

Have plenty of fruits and vegetables, though they themselves do not top the list of iron rich food sources they contain Vitamin C which enhances the absorption of iron. Iron is absorbed more efficiently by the body from meat and fish. Meats eaten in small amounts increase the overall absorption of iron by the body. Avoid taking antacid in high doses and certain medication which reduce the amount of iron absorbed.
