What causes heart disease?

The heart pumps blood throughout the body. It supplies oxygenated blood to all the tissues of the body through the arteries. After the body cells absorb the oxygen and nutrients from the blood, the deoxygenated blood returns to the heart. The deoxygenated blood is then pumped to the lungs from where it absorbs oxygen and returns to the heart.
