It is the largest organ located in upper abdomen and produces proteins and bile, detoxifies blood, and removes worn out blood cells. Increased exposure to alcohol and toxins causes liver injury and decreased liver function. The positive fact is that liver has the capacity to regenerate itself.

DIRECTION for USE

Take 1 Veg Capsule 1-2 Times a Day after meals or as directed by healthcare professional.

Research

Phyllanthus amaras (Bhumyaamalaki) is well-known in the Ayurvedic literature for its effectiveness in aiding recovery from Hepatitis B infections. Research on Phyllanthus amarus extract has shown that it affects hepatitis B virus as well as other viruses replication that are related to infections in the liver by hindering the enzymatic activities involved in it. Clinical trials have shown that 60% of hepatitis B carriers, who took the extract of this herb orally for a month, could get rid of the hepatitis virus and it did not revert during follow up. Phyllanthus amaras aids patients with alcoholic liver disease by diminishing the build-up of collagen in the liver and reducing risk of cirrhosis.

Andrographis paniculata (Kalmegh) is an herb that benefits liver cell regeneration, triggers bile secretion and enhances liver function. On toxin exposure, consumption of its leaf extract for many days attenuates liver damage. The hepatoprotective effect of this bitter herb is due to the phytonutrient Andrographolide. Research on andrographolide from Andrographis paniculata has found to have normalization effect on levels of hepatic triglycerides, serum bilirubin and liver enzymes that are increased during hepatitis. This herb has antioxidative activity, which could prohibit liver cell death and raises the antioxidant enzyme activities. Laboratory studies have also demonstrated the anticarcinogenic property of kalmegh in mice-liver.

Glycyrrhiza (licorice) has abundance of flavonoids (liquiritigenins) that has hepatoprotective effect and impedes fat deposition in liver and subdues the lipogenic gene expression, which elicit accumulation of toxins in the liver. The flavonoids curb the conversion process of normal cells into cancer ones. Licorice root has compounds that inhibit the retention of bile acid and cholestasis. Efficiency of Glycyrrhiza in combating chronic Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C infections has been proven in the clinical trials.
